Desperation for His presence
God gathered 289 children together with 95 adults coming from 26 churches and organizations from 12 provinces in Thailand for this most amazing camp. The theme of this camp was bringing heaven to earth and our prayers were for this camp to be a spiritual encounter with our Heavenly Father for all of us. We desperately wanted God to show up at this camp and He did!
He accelerated our camp program and visited the children in ways many of us had never experienced before.
Salvation and Baptism of the Holy Spirit
On the first afternoon, many of the children came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior for the first time. In the evening, more than 200 children were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they were worshipping the Lord with new languages that they have never learnt before.
Healings and angels!!!
By the second day morning, God was healing the children from hurts and abuses that they have suffered. They were weeping as they forgave those who had hurt them and allowing Daddy God to heal their wounds.
In the afternoon, Abba Father initiated physical healing and the children were praying for each other for healing. Many were healed of stomach aches, rashes, ulcers, eczemas, aches and pains. They were so excited. When evening came, they were so anxious to give their testimonies to glorify God. As they were glorifying God, some of the children began to share of visions of angels in different parts of the meeting hall. It was such a glorious joyful time.
More physical healings, heavenly dust, visions, prophecies and commitments
On the third day, the presence of the Holy Spirit became even more intense as the children continued to pray in the Spirit and to pray for more healings. They were volunteering to pray for their friends who were unwell. Amongst us were more than 20 children who were HIV+, and there was such a sense of love and unity as
children and adults surrounded these precious ones, loving them, hugging them and praying for their healing. By the evening, there was such a sense of expectations. God had given my husband Mike (who was in Singapore) a dream to tell the children to ask Him for a surprise. So they did it and now they just couldn’t wait to see what the surprise would be. At the beginning of the meeting, the children were lining up to share testimonies of their healings, visions and words from the Lord. As one girl was sharing about her healing, I noticed that her face was glowing. I asked her what she got on her face, and she said, “Oh it must be the sparkles from the flags.” I wasn’t sure, so I dismissed it. Then one of the youth ran up and asked to share. She said as she heard the girl shared that it must be sparkles from the flag, she shot a prayer to God. She said, she looked at her hand and saw nothing, then she prayed, “If this is real, let it happen to me and I will go up and give my testimony.” She was helping to video the meeting as she prayed this prayer. Then she looked at her hand again and was shocked to see shimmering dust on her hands. She was shaking as she checked it out with others and then came up to share her testimony. She was in tears. This youth had strayed from the Lord and had just recently returned to the Lord. She was awe-stricken that God would show up for her. Then Tina, a visitor from Singapore, shared that she had just seen the window of heaven open over the head of this girl and gold dust coming down. Wow! What a surprise!
Then more and more children began sharing that they had gold dust or shimmering powder on their hands, faces and bodies. Some youths even shared that they were skeptical, so they went to the bathroom to scrub off the shimmering dust from their hands. When they came back, the shimmering powder was back again on their hands. Now they were working hard to convince me that it couldn’t be the few sparkles that we had on our prayer flags. One young girl even lifted up the bottom of her pants to show me that some of the gold sparkles were even under her clothes! She said, “Archarn (teacher), it is real, it is real!” I didn’t need convincing anyway. By this time, as I looked down from the stage, I could see many of the children’s faces shining with little sparkles in the reflection of the light. What a surprise! In my spirit, I knew God wanted the children not to focus on the glitters but on His presence.
As the challenge was given to the children who want to give their lives to serve God to bring His love to their nation, the children responded readily. More than 50 of them came forward to prostrate themselves around and on the map of Thailand that was spread out in the middle of the meeting hall.
They were weeping and some began prophesying and sharing awesome visions. One boy saw the judgment seat of God and he saw God judging the people. He saw those who did not believe in Jesus being picked up by the angels and being thrown into the lake of fire! He was a young prophet preaching his heart out!
We ended the evening with prayers of commitment with all the more than two hundred children walking through a prayer and glory tunnel formed by the adults. A youth had dreamt that this was how God wanted us to conclude the evening. It was amazing! As the children walked through the prayer and glory tunnel we saw the shimmering dust and gold dust of different colors on so many of the children, on the scalps of their heads, behind their ears and on their bodies. We were all so awe-stricken, but the focus was not on the glitters. Praises and worship filled the place. His presence was so thick. His glory filled the place.
(Some people have been asking us for photographs of the heavenly dust. It did occur to some of us that it would be great to take some photographs but we were so caught up with the intensity of the camp. We thought we would do it later as we did not want the children to focus on the glitters. We had wanted them to focus on the presence of the Lord and they did. After the meeting, everyone was so caught up with God that no one remembered. We hope to take some good photographs the next time.)
Praying for Thailand and the nations
Throughout this camp, the children had been praying for the provinces of Thailand and the nations of the world. They had been coming in faithfully during the different break times to pray, collecting prayer bricks to fill their prayer walls. One girl actually took 1 hour and 15 minutes to pray for the 76 provinces of Thailand, province by province.
Another boy prayed for all the nations of the world, nation by nation. By the morning of the last day of the camp, some children were coming as early as 5 a.m. to pray for Thailand.
We will go to the nations!!!
The camp ended with 88 campers committing their lives to go to the nations. As Mike (who had flown in from Singapore that morning) and I prayed for these children and adults, we were overwhelmed at what God was doing. We could still see sparkles here and there, but what was astounding was that it was no longer important. Sparkles or not, we knew that God was in this place and that our lives belonged to Him. To Him belongs all glory and we will tell of His glory to the nations.
